Shea Moisture Peace Rose Oil Complex Sensitive Skin Cleansing Oil & Mud Mask

This year I decided to focus on my overall health being emotional, physical and mental. In the spirit of keeping my physical in tip top shape, I went a bit crazy in Walgreens and purchased skincare products I wouldn't have on a normal day. When the brand Shea Moisture comes to mind I immediately think of hair products. I knew they made body care products but I had no idea they had a skincare line. I had some extra changes so I picked up these 2.

I grabbed the Peace Rose Oil Complex Sensitive Skin Facial Cleansing Oil for $9.99 and the Peace Rose Oil Sensitive Skin Mud Mask for $14.99. I chose this line for sensitive skin because the other line caters to oily acne prone skin. I have dry skin on my face though at certain times of the month my nose tends to produce a bit more oil.

I know that many people with oily skin might want to shy away from oily face products but this oil claims to be non-comedogenic which means it does not clog the pores. The claims for this oil are: This natural cleansing oil gently yet thoroughly melts away make-up, dirt and impurities without leaving an oily residue. Enriched with skin-nourishing certified organic Shea Butter and our proprietary complex of Alpine, Damask and Musk Rose Oils, it transforms into a creamy, soft emulsion when blended with water. Sensitive skin is left softer, smoother and refreshed. What I can tell you is that this oil smells so refreshing. It smells just like the rose water my older sister used to use when I was a teenager. I get a feeling of nostalgia each time i use it. This oil is very light. I have used this oil as a makeup remover and also as a regular cleanser. It broke down my makeup easily. You are to rub the oil and massage it into your skin then apply a bit of water and continue massaging. This water activates the lather to form. I am still one of those people who needs to see some suds to feel like a cleaning is happening so this is much appreciated. It is very easy to wash off and it leaves your  face looking and feeling clean and moisturized.
The mask is nothing like I thought it would be. I expected a semi-runny muddy consistency but it is actually quite firm. It's a thick consistency and I love that as it creates less mess. It is easy to apply and it dries quite quickly. This mask smells the same as the oil but a little diluted. The claims for this mask are: Shea Moisture's Peace Rose Oil Complex Sensitive Skin Mud Mask deeply purifies sensitive skin as it soothes and comforts skin. Enriched with skin-nourishing certified organic Shea Butter and our proprietary complex of Alpine, Damask and Musk Rose Oils, it leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and refreshed. This mask is gentle yet effective. As it dries you can feel the pulling effect and I imagine that is when impurities are being drawn out of the pores. I appreciate that this mask does not give me the shriveling-skin feeling. Yes, you can feel that you have a product on your face that is doing some magic but it feels therapeutic instead of feeling like a treatment.  This mask is very easy to wash off. I simply rinse it off with warm water and it comes right off without effort.

This line is formulated to work on combination, dry, normal, oily, sensitive skin. It is made with natural and certified organic ingredients. Peace Rose Oil Complex is a blend of Alpine, Damask and Musk Rose Oils that softens and comforts skin. Date Palm Extract is rich in vitamins and antioxidants, which helps smooth and protect skin. Camellia Leaf Extract contains anti-inflammatory properties that helps calm and soothe skin. These are some very beneficial ingredients and nutrients that are enriching to the skin.  It is advised to use this mask about once a week or as needed. I am truly enjoying this line.
