Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation | 355 Coconut
The first matte foundation I tried was the Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation. Since this type of foundation is mostly marketed towards people with oily skin, I wasn't very excited about it. I have mostly normal to dry skin and usually go for dewy foundations. I do love the supple glow I get from dewy makeup. I had to try the matte though, all the cool kids were doing it. It's only $5.94 at Walmart anyways.
I bought it and I hated it. I got the wrong shade to begin with but ended up using it as my under-eye highlight so that worked out in terms of color as it has a yellow tone but as I mentioned it is matte so I struggled to keep my skin moisturized underneath it.. This brings a problem because it responds differently to different moisturizers. When I finally bought my shade I found it very drying to my skin and I appeared to have a grey cast on my face. I realized my mistake which was to not moisturize correctly before application and the fact that this makeup is not for my skin type for goodness sake.
Though Maybelline has launched more darker shades, I do not plan on going back to see if they match me better. It caters to people with oily skin and I just don't fall in that category. One awesome thing I love about this makeup though, is that, on camera, my skin looks flawless. This makeup claims to be able to reduce the size and appearance of pores and control oil production. That's awesome for people with oily skin and large pores. It's quite runny too which leads me to the coverage. I think this foundation has light to medium coverage and that's just fine with me. I don't have too many blemishes to cover so this coverage works for me.
